Ah! Once again proving there is a God, the love of my life, Marc Jacobs, is opening a store in Chicago! The boutique will be opened by the end of the summer, and is located at 1714 N. Damen Ave. in Bucktown. This is Marc's first store in Chicago, but is following other recent upscale boutiques such as Scoop NYC, G-Star Denim, and Raizy in choosing Bucktown as their location.
I think it's rad that Marc chose Bucktown instead of the usual Oak St./North Michigan Ave. location - Bucktown just has so much more personality and character!
The store is 4,000-square-feet and will be pure fabulousness, I'm sure!
Does anyone else have info on this?

I wish that I did but I can totally look into it! If I find anything then I'll let you know.
1Hey, this was the only article besides yours that I found. Sorry!

Marc Jacobs to open store in Bucktown
New York designer Marc Jacobs, whose leather handbags go for up to $1,000 and are fixtures among the fashionista set, plans to open a store in the Bucktown neighborhood featuring Mr. Jacobs’ less expensive, urban-oriented line Marc by Marc Jacobs.
The Bucktown store at 1714 N. Damen Ave., the company’s first in Chicago, is to open by later summer after the completion of some interior and exterior renovations. Marc Jacobs currently has 12 U.S. stores, including three Marc by Marc Jacobs locations in New York, Los Angeles and Boston.
The new, 4,000-square-foot store further establishes Bucktown, a hipster haven, as a shopping destination.
The neighborhood has attracted trendy boutiques such as Scoop NYC and Raizy in recent years, but Marc Jacobs is the first big-name designer to put a store there, says Adam Secher, a principal with Baum Realty Group Inc. who represented the landlord in the lease.
“The Bucktown area has changed dramatically in the past three years,” Mr. Secher says. “Marc Jacobs is a trendsetter in fashion and real estate.”
A Marc Jacobs spokeswoman didn’t return calls seeking comment. Mr. Jacobs, who launched his own clothing line in 1986, is also creative director for French fashion house Louis Vuitton.
Marc Jacobs was represented in its Chicago lease by Lorraine Adney, a local vice-president with Philadelphia-based McDevitt Co.
Ms. Adney says the designer looked for sites throughout Chicago, focusing on Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast neighborhoods in addition to Bucktown. The store will have women’s and men’s clothing and accessories.
“It’s a beautiful space and a beautiful building,” Ms. Adney says. “Hopefully it will be a great spot for them, and an important addition to the Bucktown neighborhood.”

I'm sure you already knew about that though.
2Thank You God!
3I was telling my mom the other day that I will have to go to New York just to get a purse because the department stores in Chicago don't have the nice purses that I want. Also the Vegas store doesn't sell the good stuff.
Yay!
I'm not certain that Bucktown is the right location. Bucktowners will spend money on boutiquey clothing... but they want local small designers, not brand names. They don't even want a starbucks in the area. I'm concerned that it won't do too well.
I'll travel over there to get my goods... and hopefully others will too.
4The store opened on Jan. 15, 2008.
5I heard...
I saw...
I was completely disappointed.
Ok, not completely... but I went home shoe-less. And that NEVER happens!!
